- varruga
- (verruga [berúga] < Latin verrücam 'wart')A cattle brand in the form of a cut made in the wattle that caused a strip of flesh to hang down from the neck of the animal. This term derives from verruga, which Spanish sources gloss primarily as a wart, but Cobos indicates that in New Mexico and southern Colorado, it can also refer to "a scar or scarred tissue."
